Organic Essential Oils
Organic essential oils are extracted from organic sources such as plants and animals. Their use in skin care is often to hydrate, soften, repair and smooth skin while also providing aromatherapy skincare benefits. These oils are used in many skin care products from soaps and lotions to massage oils and bath products.
Pure organic essential oils can be added to almost any skin care product that you use as part of your daily routine. There is also no shortage of skin care products that incorporate essential oils such as glycerine soap, liquid soaps, aromatherapy soaps as well as lotions, creams and masks.
The most common organic essential oils used in skin care include:
Sandalwood - This oil is often used as an organic acne treatment and for also treating skin infections. Sandalwood is one of the antibacterial essential oils and is also known to fight off fungus that can grow on the skin. It can be added to skincare treatments such as a mud mask or warm bath.
Clary Sage - Clary-Sage is an excellent pure organic essential oil for both dry and oily skin. It also contains properties which can assist in the treatment of acne, fine wrinkles and facial lines. Small amounts added to cleansers and moisturizers in the hand are a perfect application.
Geranium - This is another one of the therapeutic essential oils that can be used for fine wrinkles and especially on sensitive skin. Adding Geranium to moisturizers and cleansers in small amounts can help give your skin a more youthful appearance.
Tea Tree - This organic essential oil is effective when used on dark spots and hyperpigmentation of the skin. Like many other oils, it can aid in treating acne and pimples as well. Tea Tree is also a natural anti-inflammatory and helps to fight off bacteria.
Lavender - Lavender is probably the most commonly used of the organic essential oils. This oil is excellent for use on oily skin since it works to maintain the balance of oil in the skin. As a result, blemishes can be better controlled and skin can remain properly hydrated. It can be added to anything from soaps to lotions to moisturizers and masks.
